The sentiment is from Desert Diva.

Male Card & I'm a Winner

I am so excited! I strolled over to Craft Your Passion to see the new challenge and was super surprised to see that I was one of the winners last week. I was so thrilled. Thank you to Craft Your Passion and their sponsors.

Ok, now on to today's card. I think this image is so cute. It is from Beccy's Place. I will use him again, for sure. The sentiment is from Desert Diva. I did not use that many embellishments; I only have a couple suitable for a male card. I know that things look better in odd numbers but I only had two of the screw brads so that is all it got. lol I will have to pick up a package when I get a chance; I think they are great. Even though it is a simple card, I hope you like it.

Challenges:
Crafty Catz; male card
Allsorts; birthday
Make it Monday
Kaboodle Doodle; anything goes
Party Time Tuesday; anything goes

Bookmark

Happy Memorial Day to all of you here in the US. It is a hot, sunny day here in North Carolina. Is it to early in the year to wish for fall? As you can probably tell by now I am not a person who enjoys hot weather; or should I say hot and humid weather, which is what we have here on the coast of North Carolina. OK on to today's creation. I made a bookmark using an image from Saturated Canary. She is so adorable, isn't she?! I kept the embellishments to a minimum since I want to be able to use it as an actual bookmark. I added some lace, a couple gems and ribbon.

Challenges
Saturated Canary: bookmark
Crafty Card Makers; distress it

Thank you for visiting. Until next time.......

Pencil Pixie

The image I used on my card today is from Whimsie Doodles. Isn't she adorable! As soon as I seen her I knew I wanted to color her. I used Copics and Prisma pencils to color her. I also used glitter glue for her wings and a gel pen for the sparkle on her pencil. I cut the leaves for the flowers out of textured cardstock. I used my stylus to create the veins and then rubbed the top with Peeled Paint ink from Tim Holtz. Thank you so much for visiting.

Stamps: Pencil Pixie; Whimsie Doodles, Sentiment; Studio G
DP: K&Company
Ribbon tape: Martha Stewart

Challenges:
Sassy Cheryl's; Your colors

Pretty Owl

Good evening everyone. I spent most of my day in the school library working on my English project. Not much fun at all. I have to tell you though I held the largest book I have ever held. It wa huge. Not just thick but large all the way around. It is called the Dictionary of the English Language. The copyright is from 1967. You should have seen me trying to carry my stuff and lug that book back to my table. Ha! Anyway I did manage to make a card although I am a bit disappointed. I had another layer to add to it (I even stamped a border on it.)  Well I set it aside and forgot to include it on my card. What can I say it has been a long day. This hot weather will not let my mind function correctly. ;o) I hope you are having a wonderful day! BTW my friend Ashley at Heart Hugs Designs is giving away some awesome blog candy. If you get a chance go check it out. I know she would be thrilled if you stopped by.

Thank you and Father's Day

Hello all of my crafty pals. I want to start today by saying thank you to everyone who has left such sweet comments and who have become followers of my new blog. A little back story I was away for a couple of years due to some personal issues and in the process lost all of my crafting supplies. I had some wonderful ladies send some of their stash to get me crafting again. I went to delete one of my Google accounts and it wiped out my entire craft blog. I almost cried. I had years of crafts posted, hundreds of followers and all of my awards that I had won on that blog and in an instant it was gone. :o( So I set up this one. I am so happy to be back to crafting and looking at everyone's gorgeous work. I still feel sad when I think of all of the great content I lost on my old blog but hey I get to start fresh right! I just wanted you all to know that your comments and the fact that you are choosing to follow me (whether you are an old friend or a new pal) means more to this gal than you know!

OK so enough sappy stuff, right! The card I have for you today is a Father's Day card for my husband. I am not the best at making male cards. I don't know, everything I am use to using seems so girly. lol  I dug through the stuff I had and came up with this. The Simon Says Stamp Challenge this week is "Cards for Men"......well when Simon says do something, you have to, right! I hope you like it. Below you will find other challenges that I am entering.

Ok my card for you today is a tribute to my sister-in-law, Debbi. She has been in a long battle with breast cancer and is now in stage four. She is a fighter!! The awesome image I used is from Saturated Canary. I hope I did the artist justice with this card.

Tag and President's List

I am so excited. I received my President's List letter today from school. After three semesters I am still holding a 4.0 GPA. I was so scared to go to school and now I wonder why I did not do it sooner. It has given me confidence, allowed me to meet some wonderful people, and has given me a sense of accomplishment I had never had. I was a wife and mom and although I knew I was good at that I felt that is where my accomplishments ended and now that feeling has changed. This tag I made really says it all....."The Journey Awakens the Soul". Yes it does!!

I started out with a bright white tag. Distressed it with Martha Stewart "walnut" ink. I then stamped the background using the same ink (I stamp once on a piece of scrap so the image would be light). I then stamped the remaining images with Memento "Tuxedo Black". All stamps are from Tim Holtz. I added some off white ribbon that I distressed.

These Tim Holtz stamps were sent to me to give me some supplies to start creating again after loosing all of my supplies. I must say I adore them! The designs are so fabulous and they are really easy to work with. I hope you like what I have done with them.

I am entering this in the Sundays With Crissy Challenge; things with wings, Anything Goes Challenge Blog; Colour Combo (black and one other color)

Until next time.....

School and Crafting

Today is the start of the summer semester. I am only taking one class this summer but it is an English class so that means writing. I love school but I can't say I am thrilled about this. For one, I just want to craft the summer away. Time will be very limited in the fall with six classes, so I want to get all of the crafting in this summer that I can. :o) Maybe I can write my English paper on crafting! Ha Ok well I guess not but a girl can wish.

OK so today I made a card using a Charlotte image from Milk Coffee. She is so adorable! I am including my card in the Milk Coffee Challenge; Buttons and Bling. I hope you enjoy today's creation.

It's storming; a great day for creating!

It is storming like crazy here today. What better way to spend a raining day than creating! I have to tell you, I love going to school but I love having all this free time to create lately. I start back tomorrow but I am only taking one class this summer, so I will still have time to create. I am having to start over with limited supplies but at least I can create again, which makes this girl very happy!

Ok so for you today I have a card using a free digital image I found at Delightful Inspiration. I am entering this card into several challenges. Lots of "anything goes" and "CAS" challenges this week, which is great for me. I am entering my card at: Make it Monday, Simon Says Stamp and Show, Inspire Me Fridays, Totally Stampalicious, The Paper Shelter, Card Mad Fairy.

Paper: Again I am not sure about all of it as it was sent to me but I believe some of it is Nikki Sivils "My Friend Birdie".

Happy to Be Back!

Here is a little about myself for those that do not know me. My name is Tonya. I am the former owner of Olde Country Creations. Due to life’s circumstances and losing all of my craft supplies, I had to give up crafting a few years ago. I was a stay at home mom for 16 years and once my children were in school, my days were spent creating.  Crafting was a part of me; I loved it. I started out doing general crafts, expanded into decorative painting, paper crafting and even doll making.

After years of being afraid to go to college, I decided it was time to get over my fear. Life’s circumstances had turned my life upside down and I figured there was nothing to lose so last summer I took the plunge and started college to get my degree in Medical Office Administration. It was one of the greatest decisions of my life. I have finished three semesters with a 4.0 GPA, I am a member of Phi Theta Kappa (an international honor society), was elected secretary of the Student Government Association, am the editor of the Office Administration Department’s newsletter, and won a scholarship from the International Association of Administrative Professionals (Jacksonville-Onslow-Lejeune chapter.) Words cannot describe how happy I am that I faced my fear and went back to school. I look forward to the future and graduating with my degree in May of 2013. Remember, you are never to old to face your fears.

A couple of months ago I had some very generous ladies send me some of their extra craft supplies to get me crafting again. Since I am only taking one class this summer I will have time to start creating again. I am so excited. I am ready to get my hands “inky” and start sharing my creations with you again. If you would like to view some of my old paper crafts you can visit my SCS gallery.

I will be sharing my crafts, school life, and family. I hope you follow me along on my life's adventures; after revamping my life.
