MFT Guest Designer Contest

Who doesn't love curling up in bed with a good book! This little Pure Innocence gal from the Bedtime Story stamp set  sure seems to enjoy it. I fell in love with her as soon as I seen her. I could just see her all paper pieced in my mind. She was so much fun to play with!

It is time for another Guest Designer contest for My Favorite Things (MFT). It would be such an honor to be their guest. MFT truly has one of the best design teams around and fabulous products to boot. You can find all of the information on becoming a MFT guest designer here.

My layout is based on the MFT Guest Designer contest sketch. Isn't it fab! I will definitely be using it again.
I wanted to create the  little Pure Innocence cutie her own little bedroom, wall hanging and all. :o) I used pop dots to raise the wall hanging off of the wall and used a tiny silver brad as a nail. I colored the image with Copics, cut out my image and began to paper piece the blanket, pillow, lampshade, and book with MME paper collection, Reunion. I added backing paper to the top layer that reminded me of wallpaper and adhered lace that I boarder punched. I used pop dots to give my Pure Innocence image some dimension. I added two small brads to the top corners of my card to give it some additional interest. Then added a button to the lower corner. I used heavyweight Kraft cardstock to layer all of my decorative paper.

I cut the tab using the large bookmark die from the Die-namics Bookmark Duo die and stamp set. I adore this set. When it was released last month I drooled and drooled until I made it mine. lol  It is so versatile in how you can use it and  it can be used for so many things. Once I had the die cut,  I cut it off to make a tab. I stamped the sentiment from the Pure Innocence Bedtime Story set and adhered it to a gift card. The gift card slides in to the side of the top layer of my card.

I hope you like it. Wish me luck in the contest, ok! :o) I am super excited at the thought of being a MFT gal for a month. Even if it is only a Sweet Dream.

Check out the MFT September Teasers. They are fantatic and the design team has been offering so much inspiration. Be sure to attend the New Release Party on September 10 from 8-10 PM EST HERE in the MFT forum, where you can win prizes! All of the new releases will be available immediately after the party HERE.

I am also playing in the following challenges:
Allsorts: layers
Through the Craftroom Door: anything goes
Tuesday Throwdown: back to books
Unique Crafters Challenge: anything goes (and big giveaway)

Well that is all for now. I am wishing you a beautiful night!

Thank you so much for stopping by. Until next time...........

Crafter's Companion Challenge

Good morning. I am sorry I have not been around the past few days. I have been so busy! I plan to make some creative time this afternoon. :o)

It is a new month and the start of a new challenge at Crafter's Companion USA challenge blog. This month we want to see your creation using Crafter's Companion stamps with stripes and/or dots.  As always there is a fabulous prize. The winner will receive a $30 gift certificate to the online store. Yay!!

I used the gorgeous stamp set from Sheena Douglass, Silhouette Garden. It is actually the same set I used on my last card. This collection has so many beautiful elements. I used Spectrum Noir markers to color the patio and candle flame. I stamped the table and lantern with Memento ink in Tuxedo Black. The tree was done with Distress Ink in Peeled Paint and the sky with Broken China. I added details to the lantern with a silver gel pen. The papers are from Recollections. The embellishments are from my stash.

Be sure to head over to the Crafter's Companion USA challenge blog to see all of the other wonderful DT creations. I can't wait to see what you create! :o)
