Birthday Tea

Hello friends. I hope you are doing well. Today I have a card that I made for the Besties, anything goes, challenge. I am in love with this line of images. They are so much fun to color. They are detailed without being difficult to color, which I love. For this card I used Teacup Tilly. I really like this color combination. The paper is from MME, the ribbon is from Paper Issues, and the pearls are from Inky Impressions. The sentiment is from Technique Tuesday. I also used a doily from Wilton. I really need to get a doily die when I can as I love doilies. The buttons, lace, crocheted flower and brad are from my stash.

Here is a close-up.

My Favorite Things Guest Designer Contest

It is time once again for the My Favorite Things guest designer contest. I just had to throw my hat in the ring once again. :o)  You can find all of the information on how you can play along for a chance to work with the amazing MFT design team and win over $200 in MFT products on the MFT forum. Here is the sketch for this month's contest. Isn't it fab!

I stamped the image from the  Cute is What I Do stamp set with Tuxedo Black, Memento ink, colored her with Copics, and paper pieced her adorable outfit using paper from Recollections and Bazzill. I masked off a portion of one of the sentiment stamps in the Cute is What I Do set to stamp "cute" on the tag. I added Grosgrain Bubblegum ribbon, and Razzle Berry buttons. I added a fancy flourish using the Fancy Flourish Die-namics.

I added pink pearls to her pigtails. I also added a pearl to the center of the small bow. I added a mint green rhinestone to the tag and pink rhinestones as an accent on the card. I layered a few plastic flower embellishments together to add to her shirt and finished the flower off with a drop of Pearl Ex. The lace is from my stash.

I am playing in the following challenges:
Crafting for all Seasons: buttons and bows
Simon Says Stamp: paper piecing
Anything Goes Challenge: buttons and bows
Inky Chicks: bingo (ribbon, image, pearls)
Papertake Weekly: add a bow

With Sympathy

Hey friends! I'm sorry I have not posted in a few days. It has been a sad couple of days around here. My ex mother-in-law passed away a couple days ago after a battle with cancer. Me and my ex-husband (and his family) get along very well.  Even though Sue, was technically my ex mother-in-law, in my heart she wasn't. I met her when I was 14 and we had some of the best times of my life together. Not only have I been dealing with my own grief,  I have been worried about my daughter, her dad, and her aunt. None of them have ever had to go through something like this before. My daughter's aunt is pregnant so I am especially worried about her. Please keep the family in your thoughts/prayers.

Here is a sympathy card I made. The beautiful paper is from K&Company. I used a Cherry Lynn birdcage die and MeiFlower pearl heart from My Crafty Heart, MFT leafy flourish die, mini rolled rose die, felt, and ribbon. I also used Inky Dinky Drops from Inky Impressions, a sentiment from PTI, and scalloped punches from Martha Stewart. The lace is from my stash.

I would like to play in the following challenges:
Fab 'n' Funky: favorite color combo (pink and green)
Papertake Weekly: add a bow
Created With Love: anything goes
Kaboodle Doodles : ribbon
Allsorts: flower power
Sugar Creek Hollow: tic tac toe (lace, ribbon, pearls)
613 Avenue Create: anything goes (twist: kraft paper)
Make it Monday with Kraft Outlet: use punches
Sweet Stamps : pearls and lace

Thank you so much for stopping by. Have a beautiful week and remember to tell the ones you love that you love them.

Hey, friends! I hope you had a fabulous weekend. While at the Kraftin' Kimmie release party they announced a fun new contest for a guest design spot. They will pick the top 10 and then narrow those down to 3. Wish me luck! :o)

For my card I used an image and sentiment from the adorable Lulu and Friends stamp set. I used Copics to color the image. The paper is from Recollections and K&Company. I used ribbon from Paper Issues, a charm from Inky Impressions, rhinestones from K&Company, and a doily from Wilton.

Sent With Love

How are you doing today? Are you happy that it is Friday? I am! I also have a 3 day weekend which is awesome. I wish the weather was going to be nicer though. I left the house this morning for my 7 a.m. Spanish class and it was so cold. We went from 79 degrees to 48 degrees overnight (high temps). Our weather is crazy! I would rather have the 79 degrees back. Cold weather is a good excuse to stay inside this weekend and create though. :o)

I used a new digi stamp called Sent With Love from Inky Impressions for my card today. I think she is super cute. I love her striped shirt and beautiful hair. I used paper from Recollections, added a doily from Wilton, and embellished the card with gems from Recollections, a beautiful heart charm from Inky Impressions, and ribbon from my stash. I added the new digi love sentiment from Inky Impression and cut the paper into a fishtail. I used Copics to color the image and sentiment.

I am playing in the following challenges:
Craft Us Crazy: celebrate love
Crafty Ribbons: love/romance
Crafting By Design: use alcohol markers
Crafting for all Seasons: something new
Can You Digi It: getting girly

Happy Birthday!

Hey friends! Yes, I am still around. It has been a crazy week. This semester is going to be a challenge. Not necessarily hard (well except Spanish), just very time consuming. I just have to budget my time wisely. For those of you that like to keep up with my trials and tribulations at school, I received my President's letter in the mail the other day. I am still holding my 4.0 GPA, now I just have to get through this last semester and I will be a college graduate. Whoop whoop! Hopefully I can get through it without messing up my GPA.

OK now on to the creative side of things. It was my youngest daughter Hannah's 13th birthday on January 11, so I made this card for her. I also read that Bugaboo is celebrating their 3rd birthday, so of course I just had to play along in their birthday challenge. I used the KPT- Girl with Ponytails and the Make It Snappy frame (I'm sorry I can't find it on the website anymore). I think this little girl is such a doll. I love her sweet face and those cute little ponytails. Bugaboo is has several challenges going on this week along with a birthday blog hop so be sure to check those out.
The cake day calendar is from Pink Gem Designs, and the "Celebrate Today" sentiment is from PTI.

Other supplies:
Pearl: Inky Impressions
Twine: My Favorite Things
Paper: Recollections
Pink Staples: the college bookstore
Buttons and lace: My stash

I am playing in the following challenges:

Blog Candy Winner

Hey friends. No card today (not yet anyway), but I wanted to go ahead and announce my blog candy winner. Thank you to everyone who entered my giveaway and welcome to my new followers. Thank you for choosing to follow me. :o)

As most of you know, I just started my last semester of college. Life has been a little hectic the last few days. On top of school starting the processor went out on my computer (which was not even 2 years old) so I had to purchase a new one. Which I really hated to do because it leaves my crafting budget at 0 for quite awhile, *sigh* but besides that the new one has Windows 8. So far I am not a fan. It does have some cool features but for the most part I do not like it. It is SO different than any other Windows version and some things about it just do not make sense to me and it leaves me wondering "what were they thinking". lol I appreciate your patience with me during this busy time. I do try to visit you all even if I do not always have time to leave comments.

Anyway enough rambling let's see who the winner is of the Unity stamp set, ribbon, and Inky pearls.........According to random.org it is

#7 which is terriavidreader (IN-USA) Congratulations, Terri!!  Please e-mail me your mailing address and I will get your goodies out to you some time next week.

I have some duplicate stamp sets, so I will have more candy soon.

Have a fabulous day, everyone!! :o)

MFT Guest Designer Contest

Good evening everyone. I hope you had a fabulous day. Well, I go back to school on Monday. I have really enjoyed my break and I hate to see it end. Have a mentioned that I have a 7 a.m. class? Oh boy what was I thinking? lol In all honesty my theory was that the sooner I go in the sooner I get out and that leaves more time for crafting. :o) We have to have time for fun, right!

OK now on to my card. I made this for the My Favorite Things (MFT) guest designer contest. You can find all of the details on how you can play along in the MFT forum. Why don't you come play along. I would love to see your take on the sketch. Speaking of, here is this month's beautiful sketch.

I used an MFT image and sentiment from the Pure Innocence collection called Pucker Up. This stamp set is so sweet. There are so many possibilities.

I did not use a lot of embellishments on this card as the sketch itself is so wonderful. The paper is The Good Life from Fancy Pants. I also used pearls from Inky Impressions.  I cut a tab and added the sentiment then adhered it under the image, so the sentiment tab is not flat, but sits off of the card.

I colored this little cutie up using Copic markers and added Diamond Glaze to the pitcher to make it look like glass.

You can view all of the fabulous creations using this sketch in the MFT gallery, here.

Have you seen all of the awesome new products that MFT is releasing this month? If not run on over and check out the teasers on the MFT blog.

I would like to play in the following challenges:
Crafty Catz : anything goes
Crafty Creations: anything goes
Simon Says Stamp: something new (stamp)
Loves Rubber Stamps: anything goes

Thank you so much for stopping by. Until next time.

Pink and Green, Oh My!

Good afternoon! Blogger is still giving me a fit about uploading photos, but I figured out how to upload them to Picasa manually and then upload them from there, although it is a pain. Is anyone else having problems?

Here is another card I made using a Sherri Baldy image. I just love these little cuties. The paper was gifted to me and I am not sure who the designer is. I used the fancy flourish die from MFT, gems and tape from Recollections, flowers from Whimsy Stamps, sentiment from PTI, scalloped circle punches & border punch from Martha Stewart, and lace, ribbon, and button from my stash. I colored with Copics and added glitter glue from Studio G to her dress.

Simon Says Stamp: something new (image)
Simon Says Stamp and Show : anything goes
Paper Crafting Journey: anything goes
Whimsie Doodles : photo inspiration (see blog)

Have a fabulous weekend! Oh and there are still a few hours to get in on my blog candy. Good luck!!

Thank you so much for stopping by. Until next time...........

Hey friends. I hope you had a great day. Ok so I have a confession to make. I really want to learn how to make beautiful cards that have limited coloring. I find it so difficult. Blog Candy and Blogger problems

I have been trying to for hours to get blogger to upload my photos. *sigh* When I click to upload them the page does not completely load so I can pick which photos to upload. I will have to try again in the morning. In the meantime I want to remind you that tomorrow is the last day to enter my blog candy draw. You do not have to be a follower (although you will receive an extra entry if you are), just spread the word. Up for grabs is a Unity stamp set, ribbon, and pearls. You can enter here.
