Well today is my youngest daughter's first day back to school. It is hard to believe my "baby" is starting the 7th grade. Boy where did the time go!  I wanted to make her a card for her first day back and this MayzyArt image was perfect. She was alot of fun to color too.Wouldn't you know that the MayzyArt challenge this week is "fluffy". I don't think I can fit this into that challenge. Well her hair is fluffy, but I think that might be cheating. lol

The sentiment is a Hero Arts stamp set I won from Simon Says Stamp. :o) The pearls are from Recollection. The button and lace are from an old blouse, the ribbon was a gift from Nicole at Inky Impressions. I adore gingham.  The chipboard piece is from my stash.

All of my embellishments came from three of my favorite online stores. I used flowers from Inky Impressions and Whimsy Stamps. The twine, charm, and rhinestones are from Inky Impressions. Inky Inspirational Post

Hey everyone. It is my turn to share an inspiration post on the Inky Impressions Inspirational Blog. This week I made a holiday card with Hazel Baking Cookies. In this case she is making holiday cookies. :o) I do not usually use the same image twice in a row, but this one was already colored and time got away from me this week and here is why.......
School officially started this week. Here are my books for my classes. Boy, this is going to be a BUSY semester. On top of classes and DT work I also work as the secretary for the Student Government Association (SGA), and publish the Medical Office Administration departments newsletter for each semester. Although I will be super busy, I love each of my "jobs". It is an honor to be on my DT's, to be elected as secretary of SGA, and to have people have enough faith in me to publish the newsletter. I also love going to school. It brings me joy when I learn I something new. Ok, well that topic got away from me. lol I will stop rambling and show you my card now. :o)

I used paper from The Robin's Nest and from Recollections. The brads are from Bo Bunny. I adore this ribbon that I used, but unfortunately I am not sure who makes it. This was the last of it and I hate to see it go.

I used Memento ink in Tuxedo Black to stamp my image and Copics to color. I used a sparkle gel pen to go over the hairbows and apron trim to give them sparkle.

Quick tip: when you cut an image out go around the edges with a black marker so it covers any white edges that you may have left.

Don't forget to participate in the Inky Impressions blog hop and new challenge to have a chance at four Inky prizes this week. Also I have blog candy to give away on my blog, so be sure to get your name entered.

I am playing in the following challenges:
Tuesday Throwdown: sweet treats
Crafty Ann's: Christmas in August
Crafty Catz: animals
Totally Papercrafts: inspired by a song (Christmas Cookies by George Strait)

That's it for me today. I hope you have a beautiful weekend! :o)

Thank you so much for stopping by. Until next time...........

Monday Inspiration and a Giveaway

Good morning! I am thrilled that I get to share this week's Crafter's Companion Monday inspiration with you. The theme this month is friendship so I decided to use a super cute stamp called Wine of Friendship from S.W.A.L.K.
I used the CleverCut 3-in-1 Mini Paper Trimmer to cut my card stock. I stamped my image with Memento Ink in Tuxedo Black. This is the best ink I have found for alcohol markers. It does not smear or run when coloring.

After coloring my image I wanted to give it some extra details so I used 3-D Crystal Lacquer on the wine glasses to give them the appearance of real glass. I love the look that the 3-D Crystal Lacquer gives. I then used a silver gel pen to color the necklace. Just a few extra details can really bring your project to life.
I hope I have inspired you to add a few extra details to your project or to make a card for your dear friend, just because.

This week we are giving away Sheena's A Little Bit Festive - Fairy Power so be sure to head over to  the Crafter's Companion Challenge blog for all the details.

I am playing in the following challneges:
Kaboodle Doodles: friendshhip
Oldie but Goodie: Friends (old = pearls)
Papertake Weekly: anything goes
Diva's by Design: For a Female
Paper Crafting Journey: anything goes

That is all for me today. I hope you have a beautiful week!

Until next time..............

Where has the summer gone?

Hey everyone! I hope you are having a beautiful day. Before long this summer will be nothing but a memory. I go back to school at the end of next week. Only two semesters left. :o) Part of me is excited because I really do love going to school, but part of me is sad that I will not have time to create as much as I would like. I promise to come around and comment on your beautiful creations as much as I can, but the next four months are going to be crammed full of duties for DT work, school work, and secretary duties for the Student Government. Not to mention wife and mom duties. Wish me luck ya'll. :o) Yep, I said ya'll.....I am from the south that's just what we do. lol Ok enough babbling. Let's get to my card.

I used an image from the always fabulous Saturated Canary. Isn't she beautiful! I love this image. I am also entering her in the Saturated Canary challenge; the great outdoors. The sentiment is from PTI and the flowers are from Whimsy Stamps.

Song of Friendship

I am a very lucky girl to have some amazing friends in my life. I do not have many that I am super close to, but the ones I do have are such a blessing. They are always there when I need to talk or laugh or just need to feel special. Some are near and some are far, but they are all gifts that will forever be treasured in my heart. I hope each of you are lucky enough to have a friend/s like that. Today my card is about friendship. :o)

I used images and a sentiment from Skipping Stones Design. I am also entering into their challenge.

No pattern paper today. I used black and white cardstock only. I used distressed ink pads for the background in peeled paint and broken china. I colored the butterfly with the following Copics: R27, YR07, Y38, Y35, Y08, Y21. I added ribbon and a button from my stash.

I am playing in the following challenges.
